Michael qualified as an architect in 2001 at Michael Squire & Partners. During his time at Squire & Partners he worked on the HSBC headquarters at St James’s, London, and other high profile office buildings.
Moving to Glenn Howells Architects in Birmingham, Michael was project architect for Dunstable Theatre, before returning to his native Derbyshire in 2005 and a position at Latham Architects. Working across the practice’s Design & Conservation and Urban Studies Group, Michael produced the master plan for Eckersley Mills in Wigan and was made an Associate in 2007.
Family took Michael to Scotland later in 2007 where he joined Reiach and Hall Architects in Edinburgh, working on Dundee City Council headquarters and Stobhill Hospital. He was seconded to Architecture & Design Scotland (A+DS) as Design Advisor to the Health Team during 2009. Michael Roper Architect was established later this year.
